Recomended Scorers
« on: January 21, 2012, 11:42:31 AM »
I'm looking for recomendations on B&C scorers. I have a few names from the B&C website and am just curious if there is anyone that has recomendations. Also is there anyone else I should be looking at?  I live near Everett.

Thanks Tony

You should take it to the outdoor show at the end of month.

Really shouldn't matter who you have do it as long as they are a certified measurer. I have a guy come to my shop to measure for B & C, but I am down in the Maple Valley area. What do you have, and are you sure it will make Boone and Crocket? I usually measure things before I have the official guy come out so I'm not wasting his time. Be happy to do that for you but I'm sure you can find someone closer.

Buzzy Cook, Olympic Taxidermy in North Bend.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

I don't know if it will make B&C, probably not but I'd like to officially score it. This is what  i'm looking to score.  Cook is who I was looking at

How does it work if I take it to the Sportsmans Show in Puyallup? Do I leave it there or do they score it on the spot etc..?

At the Sportsmans show It was $15, and they do it on the spot. Check if they will have another person score it as well. Mine was 1 5/8 off from the original guy, that left pencil marks on my trophy head! Next time i went to enter in the contest, they noticed it was way off, bumping me to 99th Whitetale mod typical, now, who knows, LOL

Buzzy teaches classes for scoring records, if your close to North Bend, he would be the most accurate.

Good luck, he will score dandy!

If memory is right if you want it to be entered in the contest don't you have to leave it until the last day before you are allowed to take it home?

Bow4elk is a B&C scorer on this sight... Pm him and get recommendations

I think Bow4elk is a NW big game records book official scorer and a P/Y official scorer but not B/C.

I took mine in on a Sunday. I dropped it off with them, and picked it up 45 min. later. That was in Monroe 4-5 years ago. I'm not sure if it's the same now.
My deer was no where near a B&C, and I new that going in. I just wanted to know what it scored (119 1/8).
