How many Boone and Crockett moose taken in WA?
« on: July 21, 2008, 08:59:44 PM »
I am just wondering how likely a guy might hope to find a bull moose that would net 155 in WA state. Do any of you have access to the B&C record books that would show how many B&C moose have been taken in WA? If so what units did they come from. My brother and I drew the Huckleberry moose tag and I am curious if there is any hope of taking a B&C contender. Thanks, Brian.

NWbiggame.com will give you the top 10 in each species. Might help you out. The book is pretty cheap and list all the entries if your interested.

The B&C minimum is 140" and the "all time" minimum is 155".  I'm certain there are a quite a few running around that country.

From the latest WA record books I count 8 that qualify for all time and 24 for the awards.  I'm sure there have been plenty killed that have never been measured too, probably an equal percentage.  I think the awards book is a very obtainable goal if a guy has the time and is able to keep his finger off the trigger.

Its pretty hard not to put an arrow into a 140 moose when he is standing at 20 yards.  I KNOW

An arrow Bone?  Screw that, it's hard not to put lead in a 140"+ bull at 200 yards!

I will be trying to stick one as well, of course the rifle will be close at hand if the right bull doesn't cooperate.
