You cook any fowl RARE, and parasites are the least of your problems!

Yeah, bleh!  Of course, what you can't see can't gross you out... until you slice it and it's laying on your plate.   

I haven't plucked a duck in years and here's another good reason not to.

I used to walk my dog past the sewer plant.  Every evening I'd see a flock of Mallards circle the plant, set their wings, and plunk into the crap tank.  Glad I haven't hunted ducks since the '70s!  That corn in their crops didn't always come from eating in cornfields!

i shot a greenhead yesterday that haD the exact same thing. nasty looking stuff in that bird !
