Wounded deer, black arrow with white fletching.
« on: January 31, 2012, 04:15:23 PM »
So I got these pictures and the end of November and didn't really know what to do with them.  So I guess Ill share them with all of you.  If you look close you can see that there is a black arrow with white fletching sticking out of this doe.  This was a doe that I was used to seeing pretty regularly, she disappeared shortly after this so I'm assuming she didn't make it.  Does anyone recognize this deer/arrow?  Just curious, these things happen.  It is one of the only negative things I can think of when it comes to hunting, and especially archery hunting.  Maybe it can stimulate some conversation though.  Has anyone arrowed a deer and not recovered it?  How long do you look/track an animal before giving up?

How many deer are shot with a gun and not found. It's not just a archery thing! Let's not even start this one.

kdume is right archers are not the only ones who can fail to recover a deer. a photo would help anyone tell if it is their arrow.. and my wifes are red and green with pink nocks, mine are red and yellow tiger stirped with green nocks, two shots two deer recovered

Seriously, why post the pic?  I'd surely think I would be a great idea to keep the sort of pics the anti's crave off hunting forums. :twocents:

Post it up in the "Speak your mind" board then, if you're concerned with non-members seeing it.

Must have been shooting a recurve, darn traditional bow hunters!

Jk

I bet that thing ducked the shot, well almost. Whitetail are notorious for that!  Hate seeing that though,  hope it lives.
