Beaver set on dry land

They been working on this tree and the water is too deep and swift, so I set a cage on the bank with some mud from a castor mound and caught this 50 pounder.

Looks like that trap is in need of some repairs, on the back end. What size is the trap?

Wow! Nice one.  His tail looks like he's been in a few fights.  How far did you have to carry him?  Seems like the bigger they are.....the farther you have to haul them.

BobM...the trap is 12W and 14H, 36L..same one that the fox was in.  The photo does not show it very well, but yes the back end is beat up...he tried to chew thru' all the wire on the end as well as pushed it loose.  Will need to work on that soon.
3nails...no added castor..will add some in the AM.
