whats everyones opinion on trail cams, as far as which one is best for the price? are the $400 cuddybacks really that much better?

I would say it depends on what your using it for. I got the moultree d-40, good camera for the price. I dont think it really campares with the high dollar cuddieback though ;)

Definitely...... for a couple reasons
1. batter life
2. ease of use
3. picture quality
4. security (password protected, screw to tree option, cable to tree option)

I'll add a few more reasons. They have a good flash. They have the fastest trigger speed and they are very compact!!! Makes them easier to backpack in. And YES they do take the Best Photo's
