Glad she found one she likes... but a taurus really! Don't want you to feel as if I'm kicking dirt in your face but the price is right for a reason  :twocents:

Haven't read a bad review yet.  And she had her choice of guns basically from the styles she held.  Only 3-4 out of the 20ish she held were out of the price parameters and that's the one she liked.  Now I gotta find one to have her shoot it.

Now she says she likes the feel in her hand of the Kahr P9 but likes the features and magazine capacity of the Taurus.  Nothing quite like picking a gun is there?

Springfield XD Subcompact, my wife has one in 40S&W and loves it, perfect size and still shoots really good.  I think you could pick one up for $525 in 9mm

My wife has tiny hands and the subcompact glocks with the backstrap (or whatever that piece is called) removed fits her like a glove. Gives me glock knuckle though so I make her suffer through it  :chuckle: I need to get her her own as well. This is a good thread.

Obviously she has to like it, but the Kahr Cm-9  is way cheaper than the Pm's. I have never owned the less expensive Cm series though. I know the Pm's don't jam up no matter how loose they are gripped and they have exc. trigger for a DAO auto. Smooth! and as short as you would want on something with no external safety. Plus the low bore axis keeps the muzzle jump doen, even in my Pm 45 with the medium length grip. 9x19 para/luger is a great round, but .40 is already +P hotness, while popular as heck, go shoot one at night and then stick with the 9mm. Just a suggestion, most trouble comes after dark, and a lot of .40 loads can be blinding out of a short barrel. Single stack Glock in condition III carry? Thanks for the update!

She will not.  Looking for a 3.5" ish barrel.  5" total length is gonna be about the max.  She took everyday carry into consideration and she picked her few choices, the Ruger LC9 being the third.  Gotta go shoot them now.

She sat down last night and read review after review, cross referenced that with the info she gathered and remembered from holding them at the store, and made an Excel spreadsheet comparing the sizes, magazine capacity, notes, and personal feelings and, after the 2+ hours she put into it, this is her preference list:

1.  Taurus Millennium Pro PT111 9mm
2.  Kahr CW9/CM9 9mm
3.  Ruger LC9 9mm

Next weekend, we are going to the shooting range in Puyallup and let her shoot half a box through each one to find her favorite.

Thank you everyone for all of your input.
