Second set
« on: March 10, 2012, 12:13:55 PM »
Picked up my trail cameras today.  Only got one doe activity and then rest were birds.  Had apples set up in this area and only three apples were left out of 13.  Also only got pictures off the primos camera and none off the tasco cam.  I really need to work on my camera positioning but again i'm really new at this. First picture is the doe showing up for the second time, at which it was there 5 hours before.  Last picture is one of the last pictures we got and looked like it heard something and then left pretty quickly.

Looks like your positioning is good. Where was the Tasco camera? Same location? It looks like your Primos 46 gives temperatures about 15 degrees too low, just like mine does.

(if you camera is in the Othello area, I looked it up here:  http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/KHMS/2012/3/8/DailyHistory.html?req_city=NA&req_state=NA&req_statename=NA)

This time of year can be difficult in getting many pictures of deer. Give it about 2 more months and you should see a whole lot more activity, and you'll get a bunch more pictures.

I tried to position the camera where the apples are but it's pointed not of where the creek was. It would of been way better if it was pointed more to the left and towards the ground more. May have missed smaller animals passing through or animals that had some apples and never crossed the camera. Trial and error though.

Ya the temperature does seem off but it's no big deal since I'm figuring out the deer count and see if sheds have dropped.

The tasco was about 20 feet down the stream and it didn't look like any animals had came by and looking at the pictures it took of me setting it up I wouldn't of had anything with how it was positioned. Also it was turned off when I opened it up like it turned off since it didn't have any activity.
