Where I hunt it is too thick to glass so I either call or listen for feeding bears.

Usually just scout for areas that have a decent amount of fresh sign, then just keep coming back...waiting, looking, and listening. Locating a major food source is one key I hone in on.
Eventually they come around.
I do enjoy calling, but usually save it for areas that are difficult to spot/stalk...or area's I know have bear, but I can't seem to get on 'em any other way.

I left it better than I found it...did you?
I hunt animals because veggies are too easy to stalk.

I glass tidal flats or glass cuts or power lines mostly. Sometimes I will call though. Or just hang tight.

We usually glass then spot and stalk in the high country but we don't start hunting up there till later in the season when the berries are ripe. Good luck.

Wait till the dogs are treed, well not anymore
Look , listen, glass, listen some more, watch the berry patches and grass for movement and it may be slight to harsh, dont usually see the bear first, usually the brush moving
Seems like I will usually hear them before I see them. I like the steep canyons galssing from across a drainage into the 12 year old cuts.

Whatever works, but mostly spot and stalk. I'm not much of a stand fella.

I either slow hunt - walking up thick drainages looking for closer shots - or I'll sit on a ridge and glass more open drainages. I've had good success with both.

For bowhunting, all of the above - calling, glassing, food sources. Adapt to the conditions, your available time, and your preference. Calling bears is underrated for a couple reasons:
1. People aren't sure how/where to set up and/or make authentic sounds
2. Fear
Both are valid. Calling is
best
safest as a two-man set up, just like elk hunting.
