So here is my report ....day before last for blackmouth in the spring .Went to Hat island out of Everett after talking to the checker last week .The water was calm as glass till about 11 am or so . There was about 15 other boats in the area and I decided to try trolling spoon,needlefish and herring . Trolled for about 1 hour and hooked nice but small shaker on the army truck spoon . Saw couple of nice fish in the 10lb range taken out there . So I kept changing bait and stuff but there were no hookups for me after that :bash:At about 12:30 the wind picked up from SW and I was heading for the port .Crossed path with some awesome sailboats and that was it . Saw whales along the way about 40 feet from my boat -what a pretty sight and then some more in distance blowing up spray of water ...all and all great day on the water
