That is cool!  My grandpa was hunting tha area then, and my dad also at that time.  Do you know the general area they hunted then?

I wish for the life of me that I had a GPS when I used to hunt with my dad.  For the most part all I remember about those hunting trips is riding in the back of a camper, arriving late at night in the dark, and getting up the next morning in the dark to hunt. I know we often went in from the Oak Creek side and hunted in several areas on top of Bethel Ridge but I couldn't be more specific.
Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

sweet , my old hunting partner used to tell me storys of how they hunted back in the sixties when the season was in november and the snow was azzz deep . Back then a 300 inch bull was a stud . thanks for sharing the photos .

The elk are still there we came less than a foot from hitting one right where the bethel ridge sign is saturday night. Old pictures are the best.
