One can learn more about trapping at the WDFW site.

Just type "trapping" in the search box.

Yep and I still have never seen where is say trapping rabbits is legal.  Can you post your source please.

Does it say it is not legal?

They have this on the web site -

TRAPPING SEASONS & RULES

Bobcat, Raccoon, Coyote, Fox, Cotton Tail & Snowshoe Hare

But then there is no mention of CT's or SH's in it.   :dunno:  I'm guessing you would need to take the trapping test and have a trapping license though.

There is no mention of CT or SH in the fur bearing regs but there is also the application for problem animals under that same section.  Rabbits are game  animals not fur bearing animals.  Again I would be very happy if I am wrong. Thats why I want to figure this out.  Maybe that is something we can do as a group is add rabbits to the trapping season (if it turns out that it is not already).

Bow45, did you just post your phone number?  Prank call time... woohoo!

I've never hunted wabbits with a dog, we just took turns being the dog - woof.

Changed to protect the innocent??   :chuckle:

Kain, it does seem to be some kind of oversight to mention bunnies in the header of the trapping section and then say nothing about them in the body of the regs.

Does anyone know about San Juan islands rabbits?  They are non-native domestic stock, are there any regs on them?

Thanks Bobcat, wonder if being black or blonde is enough to prove it's not a "wild" rabbit?  Too bad our rabbit pops have been dropping the last three or so years since the mink started showing up....   >:(

I wish we had that many to worry about, saber-toothed bunnies would be cool!  I've thought about releasing some Finnish Giants to help the population out.  Maybe they'd be too big for the mink to mess with....   :chuckle:

no they are not... they would likely get the juvenile rabbits if they were, but mink are lighting wrapped in a fur coat!
