Port Angeles or squim guide or charter
« on: May 08, 2012, 08:40:25 PM »
Can anyone recommend a charter or guide out of either Port Angeles or Squim for a bottom fishing trip. Lings and bottom fish combination. Going to be visiting my Grandpa over there in about a month and was thinking about taking him out for a day or two. Thanks for any advice.

Nobody has anything good to say about anyone on the North End of the O.P. ? I was looking at Peninsula Sportsmen LLC websit and they look decent. Anyone experience them? Just trying to take my 72 yo Grandpa out on the water and have some fresh fish for a dinner. Like i said before any advice is greatly appreciated.

Maybe call the sporting goods stores---Swain's or Jerry's in PA or Brian's Sporting Goods in Sequim.  The only salt guides I know are either in Port Townsend or Seiku/LaPush.

Those would be close enough. My Grandpa lives in Port Ludlow so anywhere close to that. I just didnt want to have to head all the way down to Westport after driving over there from Spokane.

Try La Push, Neah Bay, or Sekiu?

I have gone on various charters out of Ocean Shore, Westport, and LaPush. I have never had a bad trip, we always caught lots of fish with every boat we went on.

I have fished Neah Bay numerous times with friends and have always caught lots of fish, we saw the charter boats hauling in fish too. I bet any charter boat out of there would be good. Ask at the tackle shop there.

The only bad trip I ever had, a friend and I went to Sekiu, we just could not get into many fish, probably a lack of knowledge on our part.

You will do a lot better for bottom fish if fish further west that PA or Sequim.  If it were me, I'd fish out of Neah or La Push.
