Wow. Seriously? It makes you guys feel sick to apply for special hunts in this state?

I'm sure you know the solution to that problem, right? Don't apply!    :dunno:
:yeah:  give us a better chance at drawing  :chuckle:

I will always put in for the draw.  The fact that a lot of guys will stop doing, it just increases my odds.

Amen! Im perfectly fine with everyone not applying and paying to go out of state.
The best friend a guy could have asked for. RIP chasing pheasants in heaven Denali girl.

Amen!  I'm perfectly fine with applying, expecting not to get drawn and going out of state hunting every year.  :chuckle:

I don't like the wait for results either.  I agree that in today's technological society, the result could be out within a week.

As for it impacting vacation, I'm pretty lucky.  I hunt with my manager.  When I started reporting to him a couple of years ago and we got to talking hunting, he told me, "I don't care if it involves jumping out of a tree onto the animal's back with a knife in my mouth; I'm in!"  Getting time off to hunt is NO problem!!!

Don't you remember when the results came on a postcard delivered to your mailbox sometime in August?

That was the last time I drew a bull tag!!!!   :chuckle:  I remember sitting on the front steps or standing in the driveway looking for the mail lady.... Everytime my dog barked I ran to the window to see if it was her!!! Then it finally came.... My Dad opened his first... Then I....... Man it was like Christmas.....    :chuckle:

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Dad was a little disappointed to say the least....  :chuckle:  But still happy for me.... He might have been a little happier.... Work wouldn't let him take 2 1/2 weeks off for this hunt and some deer.... He went anyways....    :chuckle:

Hell yeah, I remember. I remember waiting 12 years in a row for my Manastash cow tag to come in the mail and it never did, in those same 12 years my dad got drawn for 2 Manastash cow tags and a Taneum cow tag.  :dunno:

I remember the post cards. I remember not keeping them filed away when I should have. I remember the change to the WILD ID system and my points being lost. I remember the nice lady at WDFW saying " no problem sir, just bring us your last post card with your points on it and we'll put them back in the system". I can remember tearing my house up looking for that darn post card. Kiss them points goodby  :ACRY:

Now I keep a file of all my points for all the states I apply in.

My buddy got screwed also. His and his Dad's names are the same so when they created the new system his info was all messed up. They had to create him an entire new ID in the system and assign him a new WILD ID and all.  :bash:
