tika t3 vs savage 300 win mag
« on: May 20, 2012, 11:38:36 PM »
Both are almost same price. Which is a better gun and are there any issues with them. Im sure they both kill  bears just fine, but what about long range performance. thanks :hello:

Tikka hands down. You will hear nothing but good things about them. I have been around more then a few and really like them.

For the same money I would buy the tikka and I own Savages and a tikka rifle. Tikka has a much better stock and bedding than the Savage does from the factory, they both have good triggers although I think the Savage trigger is the safer of the two. Accuracy is probably pretty similar between them but the tikka's hammer forged barrel will be easier to clean.
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.

Tikka would be my first choice.  Unless you want to easily change barrels, then Savage

Which savage and where are you looking? I can find most of savages lineup outside of the specialty stuff for well under 600. Tikka... barely under 600

I bought my tikka last year for $420.

Anyone had trouble with the Tikka mag dropping out under recoil or when lightly brushed? The Sako mag seemed to be much more secure than the one on the Tikka.
