Wolf Kill in Montana!!
« on: August 06, 2008, 02:47:22 PM »
Thought this might interest you guys with all the talk of wolves lately I got to experience it first hand.I Just finished up guide school in western montana last week.rWell on the second day of our week long pack trip in the wilderness another fella and I were hiking up this creek right before dark and stunbled accross this raghorn halfway in the creek. After looking at it for a minute we could tell it was very recent. So were standing there and I hear some rustling in the bushes so I look up and theres a big color phase black bear about 70 yards in front of us :o I tried to get a picture and did but it was to dark and did'nt come out.The bear actually stood up and then did bouncing bluff a couple of times before he departed. So we decided to go back and get Cody and the others to show em all are find. After returning cody told us that it was for sure a wolf kill.We pulled it out of the creek and here's some photos of the elk and the wolf tracks.Enjoy ;)

Good find, which wilderness were you in?
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.
You are never to old to learn something stupid.

Cody is an awesome fella, met him and his wife LeRee last year at a houndsmen BBQ.  Good folks for sure and a great school you went to.
