According to Dave Ware, the decisions were based on harvest statistics.

The lastest seasons we can have is 8-20 and the earliest, 2-14.

the season was set earlier because of harvest statistics, according to Mr. Ware.
Don't argue with me.
If they put the season in July, it would probably be more. Putting it in the early stages of the rut probably increases the chance for success and thereby reduces the number of days.
It takes a certain number of days for each user group to reach an approximate success level that is set by the WDFW. Right now, for archers thats 13 days. Used to be more. If they put the season in July, it would probably be more. Putting it in the early stages of the rut probably increases the chance for success and thereby reduces the number of days. If the success rate needs to rise, they will extend the season and shorten it if needed to reduce success. Pretty simple, works for all user groups.
I suggest the last wknd in Aug to midnight the 8th of Sept.
So would all you guys be happy if the dates were set at the 8th-21st each year, regardless which day of the week it started and ended on?
