HAts off to the WDFW, draw was turned around in 3 weeks

 :yeah:

I was going to say the same thing- thanks WDFW for not making me wait one more weekend!
(also helps that I drew in 2 of the 5 categories I applied in)   :chuckle:
I knew you worked for the wdfw..... :chuckle: :chuckle:Let's see, you supported the price increases, the point system and you drew 2 out of 5???  Next year no matter how stinky the bs is, I'm with you and the WDFW!!  I do have to admit they did a great job on getting the permits out quick this year.
“In common with”..... not so much!!

The thing is I always apply for hunts that are relatively easy to draw, whenever possible. I did not draw moose, or quality elk, or bull elk. But yes, you should know the WDFW does watch this site, and whoever complains the most, is automatically disqualified from the drawing. Thought everyone knew that.   :dunno:

Bob is correct, I have been a huge pain in WDFW's arse for the last 16 years and every year they pay me back during permit season. :'(

I'm with Bob on this. I only had 5 elk points cause a few years of out of state hunts had me stocking points so I didn't have too much on my plate. 5 elk points is the most I've ever had. I generally draw an elk tag every 2 or 3 years. Yeah they aren't premier, but they are fun and put meat in the freezer. Some guys maybe get 1 great tag with 15 points. Me I get 5 or 6 good tags and lucked into a great one.

Maybe this will wake some folks up.

The over the counter, or pretty well 100% draw tags in Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, and Colorado are better than 95% percent of the elk and 98% of the deer tags in Washington. You can easily get a better tag in 3 years of draws in those states than you could maybe draw in a lifetime in Washington.

Put in for other states!!!!!

Yup, hat's off to WDFW for the quick results this year.  I am also noticing that a lot of OIL tags went to people who also drew Quality Bull or Quality Buck.  Must be max point holders  :dunno:

PathfinderJR and I both drew late muzzy cow tags.  It'd be nice to draw something with horns (never have), but I'll take the meat tags   Besides, I've only been at it 11 years, so I figure I've got a few more to go...

It will be interesting to see how many less people applied for the quality hunts, and the OIL hunts, due to the price increase. I actually put my wife in for moose and antlerless moose this year, and did not last year, because I thought her odds might be better because of the price increase. It could be that others did the same, and maybe there will be MORE applications? I doubt it, but anything's possible. Wouldn't the WDFW love it, if more people bought applications at the higher price?   :chuckle:

I am also interested in seeing the report and find out how many people did not put in for quality permits.  Do you know when it is going to come out?  But I am very pleased with them getting the drawing done quickly even though I did not draw anything.
"Shoot the spike".  It's much easier to pack out!

No, I don't know, but it will probably be at least a month or two.

I got the Ryderwood MF cow tag! :IBCOOL: This is the second time in 3 years. Last time I didn't get to hunt though because of work.  :bash:

Now to decide which gun to use. One of the 338's? Maybe the 358 Win. Or possibly the 375 Ruger? Or maybe one of the handguns.......... :chuckle: These are the tough choices that will keep me up at night.

Seemed last year the raffle tickets took a big hit with the economy. I wonder how bad of a hit they take this year? Draw odds may be improving.
