During hunting season I like the 629 in a shoulder rig, stays out of the way but it can still get heavy. I'm thinking about switching to the HK USP .45 in a drop leg, may be better.

P.S. I hate picking huckle berry's but oh they are so good!

S&W 629 44mag.  I bought a really nice Galco Phoenix holster and gun belt to carry it.  A good belt really makes a difference in carrying the large frame guns.  It's not completely weightless, but it's not painful humping around all day.
The only difference between a butt kisser and a brown noser is depth perception.

a ruger markIII hunter it fits in my pocket of my shorts I hike in, or goes in a concealed carry bag if I feel like hauling a day bag around. working on getting used to wearing a shoulder harness and carrying a sig 226 but again it a bit of a hassle and for quick hikes which always turn out way longer than planned its usually my 22....

For the woods i carry a taurus tracker model 415 in 41 rem mag. It has a 2.5" ported barrel and best of all its a compact frame made of SS. Bigpower in a small fast handling package. Picked it up at my gun dealer in like new condition for $258. A bargain. Another nice hiking hunting rig that is easy to pack is the new ruger LCR in 357. Weighs 18 oz. Spring for the crimson trace grips, sweet.

Taurus titanium 44mag, 4in barrel.....28 oz.  Full size grip, Tracker model grips are too small for my hands.

either 45 colt 7 1/2" bicentennial blackhawk with my own load, or Taurus pt 1911. just depends on the season.

Like to carry my Kimber Ultra Raptor but my Fobus holster interferes with my pack waist strap.  Recently started carrying this stainless GP100 4"bbl in a Hunter holster and belt that clears the waistband and feels comfortable.

Taurus Titanium 45acp revolver.
4inch barrel, Hogue combat grip.
Think midsize revolver that weighs 23 oz.
I used to carry a 686 but it weighs twice as much.

I was thinkin I could double it as a hunting pistol, so leaning towards something that'll reach out a ways.

I like the 44mag mostly because I have a ruger 44 carbine semi-auto, I like to consolidate ammunition  :chuckle:

Glock20 10mm ....it's a lot of firepower but I'd probably only ever have the chance to use one of them.

G29. Takes the same mags as the 20 and is lighter, plus I can carry 10 rounders as well to save even more weight.
Never, ever let Creed hold you baby, it will ruin it and you will have to get another.

If you are looking for a hunting revolver then go big and long. But even so you may still want to be carrying a
more compact fast acquisition rig to account for the wolves, cougars, bears and 2 legged vermin which can be found in our woods and may popup at the most unexpected moment.
