first trip in the wilderness with my brother and friend. Brother brought the tent, with no tent poles. Made it through the first night. Second night, freezing rain. Had to walk out 7 miles, half frozen, at 1am. No bueno

Forgot both clips for my rifle once.    That turns a BAR into  a really heavy single shot.

Forgot my bow last Elk season as I switched trucks at the last minute, figured oh well I will just bugle for my buddy. We got into a group of Elk and they were going off on us. My buddy snuck down the hill about 30yds to try and get a better lane to shoot down. Sure enough 3 spike bulls crossed 12yds from me and no bow. Hopefully that will never happen again. lol

This is a great thread.  I forgot my fishing license one year while headed into the backcountry to fish some lakes.  You never make that mistake again.  I triple check my license and bow case before every trip.

Never been checked in high country lake fishing. LE pretty much stay to the roads

We have been checked once in the high country by a warden on a horse who was out for a ride.

Have left the GPS on the hood of the truck all day while out hunting.
When I pass, do not let my wife sell the guns for what I told her they cost.

I've left my release in the truck and hiked in 2 miles before I realized it. Last year, I forgot oil for the generator - bar oil is not a good substitute!

Forgot the tent poles a few years back when hunting near Winthrop.  Had to sleep under an Easy-Up for the night.  Thankfully it had walls, but man was it cold that night.  Next day, ran into town and bought the first tent we could find.  That night, burned two holes in the door flap from embers.  THen to top it all off, we forgot to pack up the old tent when we left and didn't realize it until we got home back on the wetside.   :bash: :bash: :bash:
