Static vs. vibration?

I can't afford a 200 collar, I found a vibration/whistle collar for $5. It's only a two level vibration/whistle collar but I figured it might be worth it for only 5 bucks. It has a 300 yard range but I cant find any reviews online for it, my dog is half obedient but won't listen for nothing at any distance past 10 ft. What are you thoughts, as a side note, I'm not trying to be a cheap a$$ but a 200 collar isn't an option being that I'm unemployed. Thoughts or inputs??

Seriously, I would save my money. Have you done much obedience work in the yard? Here is a good one for retrievers and flushing dogs (not sure if pointer guys want there dogs to sit in the field or not) when you are training in the yard and tell your dog to sit at a distance and he doesn't, lead him to where he was when you gave him the command, make him sit, go back to where you were when you gave the original command, make him keep sitting and then release him. Start when he is close to you and eventually move further away as he gets better. Then take him to the field and do the same thing (start close and then make him obey further and further away). I use treats to reinforce this stuff in the yard (when he does what you want walk out and give him a treat and go back to where you were standing and release him. For some dogs a treat can just be a pat on the head, for others it can be a piece of kibble). Do this exercize a couple of times a day for 5-10 mins a session and your dog will respond better to you in the field.

Another good one= Go to youtube and look for the 'touch' command for a strating place to teach your dog to retrieve to hand.

Go spend $5 on a good long rope. Put it on your dog and let him drag it around everytime you go outside for a few days or, until he doesn't notice it anymore then, work on obedience every day for 10 minutes, twice a day for two weeks with the rope on him. Use the rope to reinforce here, sit, stay. Don't waste your money on a cheap collar. Millions of dogs have been trained without a collar. It isn't a requirement. Good obedience is a requirement for a good dog. At least the rope will still be worth $5 when you're done.

Lol, I like the rope suggestion    I took her out this morning to the park at 5 and worked with her a little.  I use a clicker and she responds well but she won't do the sit command from a distance of 5 ft. if I'm near her she will sit, down, stay. I'll try the first suggestion. The only reason I was considering getting it was because its from the yardsellr app and I've won enough money to pay for it. But I need a rope for my tree stand so maybe I'll look for one on there

To help teach the remote sit call her towards you from close at first say the sit command and walk towards her till she sits you will notice she will start sitting as soon as you move forward she will start sitting at a distance thats how I did it with my Springer
