East/West tags
« on: June 12, 2012, 02:05:26 PM »
Talking to a guy yesterday he claims that he hunts the east side with a western tag for elk.  I told him he can't do that, that they ended that years ago.  It looks black and white to me in the hunting regs.  Page 44, Elk tag areas, choose Western or Eastern.  He also claimed he has been checked by a game warden on the east side with his western tag and he checked him and his license and tags and said have a good day.  Is this possible or legal?  Doesn't look like it to me.  I'm not looking to hunt the east side, just want to make sure I understand the regulations correctly.  Let me know what you guys think, Thanks.

i would ask the guy to show you his tags because he is probably mistaken, because you are correct when it comes to elk, but he probably thinks your talkn about deer, when you can hunt either side
my grandpa always said "if it aint broke dont fix it"
