retired yote
« on: August 10, 2008, 08:31:02 PM »
I got a call sat. from my Dad, he wanted to go out and try are new honey hole for coyotes. So around 6:00pm we where heading up the canyon and after about 2 miles we decied to look around for a good spot to set up. We picked a spot and where slowly walking toward it when Dad whispers dog. Me not paying attiontion said where while I was looking in front of me. Dad replied over there, and I spoted it walking down the other side of the canyon about 150yd's away. About the time I had got my gun off my shoulder he spoted another just down from the first. I ask which one he wanted and he said the higher one. I got on mine and squeezed the trigger and the coyote drop, I heared Dad shot a spit second after and saw his dog running so I shot at it twice missing. My Dad then hit it and rolled it down the hill and to both are suprise it started to run when it hit the bottom. I look back and mine to make sure it wasnt runing to see it laying on its back as if it was in a lounge chair :chuckle: I walk down to where the other one went and there is no way I was going in there. I could see a good blood trail leading in so I dont think it was going to suffer long.

The view from across the canyon
