My Coyote Graveyard

Thought it might be fun to share my little coyote shoot.  May 1st my Uncle comes over to take me back to my truck I left at the bar the night before and he says "Is that a deer?"  Nope its a coyote...Run in the house, grab my gun and boom....coyote down (no pic).  May 11th my dog steps out on the porch, hair goes up and he heads for the brush, I grab my gun and out steps this coyote.  Biggest I've ever shot, missin 2 teeth and another one chipped.  Older dog.

2 hours later another comes running towards his buddy and I whack him too.

2 days later I whack another one not 100 yards from these 2 (no pic).  Then on the 19th I catch this one staring at his dead buddies.  Threw him right on top of them too.

Week later I Shot another one down by the creek (no pic) and too far to drag over to throw in the pile.  On the 31st I caught this girl staring at the carcasses.  See them in the back ground.  She was shot right where she lays.

Shot another one that evening (no pic) checking on the last dead one.  Crazy they can't help but go sniff their dead buddies.  And I haven't ever really had a coyote problem at the house.  I shoot every one I see.  Sure am glad I got these before the fawns dropped.  Good trick to use if you have the opportunity to watch a spot regularly is to put them coyotes right in the kill zone, because they just can't help smelling eachother even if they've been dead a while...Ahhhh good times.

It is...about 175 yards out at a normally down wind location...and I didn't mention the one I missed.  It was the easiest shot too, don't know how I missed it.  I would have posted the other coyote pics but I don't like being in the photos.  The one coyote me and my buddy were whatching Wicked Tuna on TV and I had 1 eye out the window for Wicked Coyote when it stepped out.  Got some good chum I suppose.  Also all of these dogs were shot between 10 am and 5 pm, never seen a thing at first light or late evening.  Most of the time I was outside working on stuff, the one coyote I spotted while riding around on my lawnmower.  Goofy. 

I had seen one of the elk that show up near my house, before this started, with hoof rot so bad I knew it would probably die, so maybe it was piled up in the woods somewhere and the pack had been munching on it.  Who knows.

You guys are gonna love this....LMAO...Come home about 11:30 am.  Look out at the coyote graveyard and there he stands in a trance, staring straight ahead, probably a full minute between the time I spotted him until I could reach my gun.  Never moved an inch.  That is exactly where I walked up and found him dead.  LMAO they can't resist visiting the coyote graveyard.

There is no other bait, just coyote bones and hair.  Everybody needs to start their own graveyard.  LMAO....  They can't resist.  I've lived here 5 years and wished I had started the graveyard long ago.  I started putting them in a pile just recently and they just go there to smell the dead I guess.  Theres nothing there left to eat.   

Its about 160 yards from my house, just rainged it again.
Dead coyotes is the only bait

I didn't put those bones there.  That is exactly where he stood.  Look above him see the spine/skull and other coyote bones farther up.

Sweet!  Great job man!
I have done that over a cow carcass.  I shot 6 in one day and 18 over a 3 week period.  Left all of the coyotes were they fell just like you.  It is pretty funny when you think how dumb they are for falling for what their brothers and sisters fell for!

Wierd for sure.  I set my trail cam out there today, just to see what else is going on.  Hope the cam works, my dumba** left it wide open for 8 days in the rain when I took out the batteries and memory card the last time.  I never knew there were so many coyotes around until I started the graveyard.  Glad someone else is onto this little trick too.  We should all be doing it....the satisfaction of shooting coyotes is great....especially this time of year.  I'm saving babies and most hunting is closed so this is a real treat.
