I can't really recall any good spots to clam over there. Most of the area I remember is rock or bluff except the western beach. I didn't think it was big enough to really hold clams. There's fish around the bridge. The old guy on the private property across the bridge is really serious about it...he chases people (mostly surfers) off with his shotgun. There's some old coastal defense stuff near the campground, deer that almost eat from your hand, and a bunch of geocaches in the area. If the tide is low enough you can walk out tongue point and the kids can see all the sea creatures in the tidepools.
