Most of the land along the river is privately owned, about 90%. There are a few spots closer to the park that you can access but make sure you know where the park boundaries are. Check with the park service for boundary clarification. Make sure the islands and gravel bars people are telling you to hunt aren't actually within the park. Better to be safe than sorry. Good luck
George Leite (360)288-2444, Park ranger out of the Quinault Station is a great contact and also a hunter.
Know the private property boundaries for yourself. Even the long time parkies get it wrong sometimes. One year we had an old parkie tell us about a piece of "Forest Service" land that people could hunt or camp on but it was actually private land. The told a hunter he could camp there. I had permission from the land owner and boundary photos to show him and he was quite surprised.
Let's see some pictures of these bulls.......Not to rain on anyone's parade but I have seen more bigger bulls in one day in other GMU's than I have seen my entire life in the Quinault Valley and that includes the Park (Bunches Fields). Cool hunt but if I had the tag and couldn't get access to Big Creek I wouldn't spend any time on the river.
I have 9 hunters in my group hunting the valley this year archery. And i have 7 rifle hunters for modern.and i have 2 of the 5 trophy tags with me this year so there is 18 bulls that will be taken under my command.that should give the local master hunters something to cry about.WE ARE THE WOLFPACK AND THE VALLEY FLOOR IS WOLFPACK TERRITORY HAS BEEN FOR 35 YEARS SO REMEMBER LOCAL MASTER HUNTERS THERE IS ONLY 1 MASTER IN THE VALLEY RIVERGHOST638 DOMINATES THE VALLEY FLOOR
