6x7 whitetail NE
« on: November 11, 2008, 01:17:54 PM »
Well we started out in Curlew this morning at 4:30, we headed over the hill toward the area we wanted to go hunting in. Got over there to our hunting area, at least the spot we thought we where going to go and the farmer swore up and down that he had never talked to us before and we didn't have permission. So I went to a stand by area that I have hunted in the past and figured we would give it a shot. We got there at about 7:45, started up out of the car and didn't get 1/4 mile when I jumped what seemed to be a decent buck. It ran up the ridge and around the corner, I head the other way into a thick draw, my partner went almost straight at him. He pushed him back down the hill toward me at a full run, one shot later from my 308 and he was dead, 80 yds in front of me in the thickest brush known to man. Got him back down to the car at 9:15 and head home. I will post some pics tomorrow. I have to reduce them first, they are to big it says, 10mp camera. I got lucky. Deer total this morning when it was all said and done, we saw 3 bucks, 18 does, the bucks where not with the does, but my buck is stinky  :chuckle: He is a 6x7 with a 19" spread, 4 points high, double eye guards, and a nice little kicker off of one of the G2's
