Can someone point me to the boundary definitions of the Spring Bear Units?

I searched and searched... Couldn't come across some of it.

I've read, "that portion of GMU..." What portion?

Are there definitions... West along so and so creek... Eastward, following the ridge between peak x and peak y,  to something pass etc...

I see that some (most) of the Bear Areas directly equate to some particular GMU. Example: Sherman = GMU 101. Other areas are not directly equal.

Example: Kapowsin indicates: That portion of GMUs 653 and/or 654 that is designated as the hunt area by Hancock Forest Management and International Forestry. What does that mean?

It would be nice to know the exact definition of of where it's legal to hunt.

Anyone care to comment?

thanks,

sam

The permits that are private timber company land, you will receive a map of the hunt boundaries after you draw the permit. At least that is the case with the Lincoln permit. I assume the Kapowsin would be the same.

You wont find out until you are drawn and receive the hunt info from Hancock

Copalis is the same way also. I've drawn the Lincoln and the Copalis but I'm not putting in anymore. The areas they give you to hunt don't seem to have much sign as compared to some of the areas around them in the same GMU. I can't say I put a lot of effort into the hunts as I could only hunt a couple of weekends. I'm sure the animals are there but it just seems pretty restrictive to me. Capitol Forest should be open but they put the kibosh on that one. That's a shame as the WDFW stopped those hunts saying the quotas had been met but we passed on 4 bears up there last year and only hunted for 5 days during the regular season for bears.
