Glock vs. M&P
« on: October 27, 2016, 09:44:31 PM »
Well I've shot both and cannot decide which I should adopt. Is there a reliability issue for the gen 3 Glock 19 or the M&P compact 9 that I should be looking at?

I had a slide rail bust on a Glock once. Older I get the more revolvers I purchased... until they all sank on a ship at sea suddenly..

i carry a m&p 9 shield everyday every where i go even around my house. I carry it with a 10 dollar inside the waist band holster and I can go hours without even noticing it. I have never had my 9 jam and they are insanely accurate!! I had the same two options I was considering when I went to buy a CCP and im very happy i went with the M&P

If I had to chose it would be glock. But I'm a SIG guy so I wouldn't have to choose. Have you tried the SIG 320.

I've never liked the way the m&p was designed. IMO.

both are excellent you cant go wrong with either. but if you have to choose ask yourself which did you shoot better and which one felt better in your hand.

Wow,  that is some ugly carpet!

The M&P and the Glock are both good choices.  And 9mm is an inherently reliable round due to the slightly tapered case.  Reliability should be excellent on both pistols   My opinion is that the Glock is a little harder on brass. (Shouldn't matter if you don't reload) but the Glock has an edge as far as service life and finish durability ( shouldn't matter Unless your shooting 10,000 rounds a year.)  the M&P gets the thumbs up due to being made in America by a company with absolutely amazing customer service.   That being said the G19 is my favorite 9mm and the one I carry the most.   :twocents:

M&P 9 for the grip angle alone.
Add the thumb safety and it's an easy decision.

:) I carry two glocks, one reason is the thumb safety on the M&P.

Both are equally reliable. I know for sure you like one better than the other, you're just worried that the one you like might have issues in the future. NOPE. Both are fine handguns and you should go with the one that you like
