First trip out of three with my buddy. This was just the rack, straps, loins; plenty  heavy for this old fart. That first trip out was straight up through an alder jungle. Started out right before dark and finally hit the trail by the truck at dawn. Beat down like a clown Charlie Brown

Carried both front shoulders for him and this was at the truck.

95+lbs was fun

No pics of mine but one year so that I didn't have to make two trips I carried out camp and a boned out deer.  Total pack weight was 110 per the bathroom scale after I got home.  I thought I was pissing and moaning too much.  Had to have help getting under the pack.   From camp site to the trailhead was 5.5 miles, luckily a slight downhill grade.

 I told him I could drag mine and he insisted on packing both. He is young.
The warden saw us and was waiting at the truck. Got a good laugh out of him.

So I do not take pictures much at all, and never thought of taking one of a pack out. But my heaviest was a solo elk hunt, killed a big  mature bull. 3.5 miles from camp it took 2 hrs to get there from camp empty, had a outfitter ligned  up to pack the meat out if I got one. Cell reception was poor at best so I got a text out to the packer hoping to get out a day early because there was a huge snow storm coming in the day I was scheduled to come out. Not hearing from him because of the very few spots to get reception. I had already done 2 packs out and I went in for the next pack, it had rained all night and the whole hike in, I had crossed 2 creeks to get in to where the bull was. But you could pick tour way across without the water going over your boots, so since I had little communication with the packer and didn’t know if he text me on the last pack i took both hind quarters in the trip. And that was the last of the meat. No idea how heavy it was but I assuming with a mature bull 2 deboned hind quarters would be around 150. I was as high of elevation you could get in the area and by the time I got back to the first creek I had crossed it had rose so much it was unbelievable I unbuckled me pack just in case I fell in I could just take it off. When I got to the second creek crossing it was way to high to not go over my boots. I just unbuckled my pack and went for it, it was about knee high but I was only about a half mile from camp at that time so I just fillled my boots and went for it. And I had zero contact from the packer. So it was kinda all for nothing. Insane pack out though, across a rock slide and through 2 rushing creeks which atleast 150#.

My heaviest was 107 lbs of camp and bear meat, hide, and head this past fall. About 3 miles down to the truck. I'm a lean 160 lbs: the pack was 2/3 of my body weight.

Picture is of the steepest part of the ridge I packed a bull up and out of Wenatchee Canyon. The top of the ridge in that picture is rather steep. Packed the meat, hide, and horns out myself, except for one 30# load my BIL hauled. That canyon has an earned reputation of being rather difficult.

Looking at that picture made my quads burn and shoulders ache.

Fine, I’ll make it publicly known I packed the hooves! 😂 only because I’m an idiot and seem to always forget my kill kit and use a pocket knife.

Last years quartered on the hoof Mule deer, few miles and a few thousand down to the bottom and was able to hitchhike the last 4 to the truck.

This years bone in Mule Deer plus camp, close to 6 miles and a couple thousand down. On a closed rd so not horrible. I did try to cut a fat hog between switchbacks dropping down a steep face, 2nd worst idea of the day.
