That is a great story!  Well done, Montana trappers. 

Marten are one of the neatest critters out there.  I had a young marten come within a few feet of me and check me out for about five minutes while I was cruising timber in northern Idaho.  Very curious, and I was in a location where it was unlikely that it had ever seen a human.
