If or when I draw a late tag I know who I’m messaging !!!
Ain't that the truth.
I've downloaded more video today then I will download all year.
He must have a pretty big GB card to have his cam on vid all the time.

Primarily Ive been utilizing the Browning Dark Ops Extreme (model BTC-6HDX), with a 256GB card. It gives adequate results.

Cool man thanks for the info.
Thought most cam can't handle more than a 32 GB.
I'll Google up that cam.
And keep drooling over your mule deer.

Yes. The same buck Andrew.
Were those videos like 9 minutes apart or were the time stamps off? One video was a lot of snow the other bare dirt

Wow! excellent observation Andrew. I had not noticed the difference between the snow covered ground (out in a small opening) and the bare ground (in heavy timber). Well done. I've been/was fixated on that bucks antlers. Not on the difference in ground cover. Probably because I'm intimately familiar with it. Again, great observation Sir!

Yes, the time stamps are about 8 minutes apart. What the buck did was a half moon circle around the two cameras that are about 50 yards from each other on the same trail. However, since there are allot of does with fawns in this particular spot I speculate that the buck was scent checking the does and simply did a circuit below one camera, and then climbed back to the main migration trail and was picked up by the other camera as he passed it. it's important to realize, and it took your observation to make me think this through, but one camera is in heavy timber; Douglas firs and ponderosa pines with some lodgepole and mountain hemlock. The other camera is out in a small opening where the snow was. The camera unit in the "big timber" had no snow cover on the ground because the trees prevented it from hitting and covering the ground. What's more, there is more "thermal" cover in the timber. Basically, it's a tad warmer in the timber than out in the open where heat can radiate out to space quicker and keep the open area slightly cooler.

Attached is another large non-typical from a few years ago that may or may not be the same buck. I captured this video a few years ago on another nearby migration ridge/trail.

Enjoy!

Belay that last! Not the same buck. I'm getting confused about which buck is which, I've captured TOO many different one's over the years in TOO many places. Gawd what a great PROBLEM to have! :IBCOOL:

Great videos!  It's too bad the deer in that area just don't have the genetics to get really wide and tall.  They've got all the feed in the world and relatively easy wintering.  On the other hand, I suppose they'd be targeted more than they already are (and that's saying something) and the big mature boys would be even more rare to find.
