Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

This is what a buck looks like that rolls off of a 50 foot cliff after being shot and then rolls a couple more times before rolling off another 80 foot cliff!!!  It was something to see.  Broke its jaw and snout, broke all four legs, lost 2/3's of the meat, back straps were jelly, and gut pouch just sort of exploded is the best way to try to explain it.  Never in my life have I seen such a sad mess.  But with all that, the horns didn't break or even chip a tip.  I truly thought that when we recovered the deer that the antlers would be nothing but chip fragments.  truly unreal.  When we shot the buck we thought it had room and would be ok but as it rolled it was an absolute terrible feeling to see it go off of the edge.  I hope I never see that again.  After trying to process the deer at the bottom of the cliffs, I now understand what a coroner must feel like that has to do an Autopsy on an skydiver that had his chute not open!

At least walking up to it you could be confident there was no need for a follow up shot  :chuckle:

I have taken a few rd kills, and if they where hit at hwy speed, that's almost like what you where dealing with. My advice after cutting up a few deer like this is. Gutless all the way, DON'T open that body cavity there is NOTHING good to be found in there, just mess to contaminate meat, everything in there is popped. And the side that got hit, is often mostly a loss.

Well I would also rather get shot before going off a cliff like that for sure! Lol!

Had to post my buddies buck from last week, too cool to not post it. Dropped him while bedded on a Boulder.
