I cant explain just how much I HATE ticks! Rattlers I can tolerate..I killed 4 during modern deer last year…82 degrees for 4 days and you really had to watch where you stepped or put your hands!

Am I the only one who doesn’t get bothered by ticks? I’m not trying to be super macho (the thought of rattlesnakes makes me nearly pass out), ticks just don’t seem to bother me. Wipe em off and keep going about my day.

Everyone has their little funny idiosyncrasies ... I don't mind ticks at all, honestly. Now add leaches and we have a problem....

Hey at least spiders and snakes bite you once, or maybe 3 or 4 times if it’s the spider  that crawls into bed with you. Ticks latch on and suck blood till you notice them. The scariest part is along with Lyme disease and whatever else, they can also carry a disease that makes you allergic to red meat, that is some crap strait out of a nightmare. I’m in the I HATE ticks camp, and yes everything in that camp gets treated with sawyers or similar

Anyone use sulfur powder?

Eating powdered sulfur is an old remedy for keeping chiggers away.  It will also turn your white t-shirt yellow according to my grandmother.

Washington they have never bothered me either. Oregon I brought home several. Maine they're in the living room waiting for you.

I also hate ticks but Lyme disease is fortunately rare in our state.

Most reported cases are from traveling to the east coast.

I used to fish Beda Lake a lot and they were so thick in the vegetation surrounding the lake we'd find them all over us. We'd sit in lawn chairs in the dirt parking lot and watch them crawling up our waders, not a bush or blade of grass in sight. I've never been too bothered by ticks but those guys creeped me out.

I pulled one off my dog the other day after doing a quick shed trip (it had beein attached for a few days). Crinkled it up in a paper towel and lit it on fire...once the flame got to the tick it popped like a piece of popcorn about a foot or so up in the air.

It was quite satisfying
