Protocol for tipping taxidermist

Just curious what you all think about tipping taxerdimist. Do you, do you not?  Let's hear it! I know where I stand but interested to see what others have to say.

Taxidermist is generally the owner of the business itself.  I don't see tipping as appropriate.   :twocents:

100% against this, unless the customer placed heavy demands for turnaround on the taxi, and the taxi met those expectations.  Or some similar extraordinary effort above and beyond a normal taxidermy transaction.

Tipping culture is completely out of control, IMHO.  Offer your services for a price, accept payment of that price, and don't expect a customer to make up for your lack of willingness to pay a reasonable wage to your employees on your behalf.  We're stuck with food service tipping, but I resist it at every other opportunity.  If anything other than a sit-down restaurant expects me to tip as a form of payment, they'll never see me again.

That said, I do tip often, and generously, when the service is warranted.
:twocents:, and off my soapbox now.

I always throw in a tip whenever it's time to pick up the animal. Not because I think I'm going to get anything extra or think he shorts wages, I just really like the work him and his employees turn out.

I'd tip a taxi who went above and beyond or delivered quality early.

I don't. This tipping culture is getting ridiculous  .

Get a ton of taxidermy done and have tipped when the final product is way beyond what I was expecting. If my jaw drops when I walk in the door I tip.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

I’ve had a lot of taxidermy work done. I didn’t even know tipping for it was a thing :dunno:

Do you tip your contractor? Nope. They are independent contractors that name the price they want for the work. Not a server who puts a special touch on the service that goes above and beyond the companies standard.

Now a bribe to get your animal moved to the front or something extra done to it… that is just part of the price for the artist.
