You can turn a special permit back in for ANY REASON up to 2 weeks prior to the opening of your season for points restoration. But also, I've seen elk right back into burned areas immediately after fire crews leaving. Like still smoldering roots. They will be licking on the burnt stumps. A few well timed rains and that burn scar will have new sprouts coming up in September. Point being, don't lose hope guys.

Best elk hunting I have seen in 162 was the year of the last big fire in there. They are so much easier to see moving across a burnt hillside.
