Alaska Moose Hunting
« on: August 14, 2024, 01:56:07 PM »
Headed north in a couple of weeks for moose and bears. First time hunting Alaska. For those that have done this trip in the past any words of wisdom? Things you brought and didnt need? Things you didnt bring and wish you had? We are guided and they provided a list of things and I have cyber stalked other advise but I thought I would ask this group. Gonna be about 200 miles west of anchorage, flown into the area.

I'll post story and pictures after the trip. Unless I get skunked then we will never speak of this again.

Thanks

Went went DIY and would just say bring some good foods, not just dehydrated. Or if in an area you can fish, bring a rod and some gear. That fresh meat makes a big difference. If it's guided though, they should handle all that. Have fun!

Good luck! I am also headed to Alaska in a few weeks for moose and I feel like I have too much stuff but know I’m forgetting something. We don’t have a guide and will be fly in/float hunting.

I brought a propane boot drier.  It saved me from getting frostbite on the brooks sep 20 hunt.
