I'm not to worried about it. I,know where the elk I have been watching all year in my unit hang out. And they are still there and archery season is almost over  :IBCOOL:

I inquire about GMUs from time to time simply because I'm curious. I never follow the answer up with "so this road or that road" or even what end of the GMU the animal was taken from. If you want to be that private maybe you shouldn't even post.  :twocents:

This is why I say the internet is going to ruin hunting as we've learned it. I'll gladly admit that I pay close attention to location when a big animal is killed. I very much prefer to do everything on my own but it must be human nature to be interested in areas that are producing.

All a guy can do is keep quiet and hope for the best these days.

all i can say is that i once had a deer hunting area that i felt was ok, then i met a hunter from seattle. he told me that a friend of his that had moved into the area had suggested the area as looking good.
that hunter was successful.
next year there were 5 campers in that spot.(# of hunters ?) it ballooned from there.
hunter #s went up & success went down, but still they kept comming.
This was before the internet, the area is junk now but they still keep comming. it only takes one set of loose lips to sink the ship.
I dont think the picts & stories hurt but word of mouth has been around for a loooong time. I personaly dont trust the harvest reports as much as some & prefere to see for myself but if a friend says, HEY the clockum has elk behind every tree, well i might be inclined to go there & check it out.

For at least the case of the spike only areas, I don't see a huge negative to the special permit guys talking about the bulls.  Such a limited amount of people that can hunt them.  Now if it was westside, you're basically inviting hundreds of people to that area.

Too funny.   No harm, no foul.   I doubt too many internet elk hunters are getting their animals by looking at pics.

P.S.   Please do not post pics of elk taken from where I hunt.

That is funny.  :chuckle: From what Ive seen where I hunted at.  You have to get out of the truck and off the roads to hunt elk... :twocents:  Being a panzy and staying on the roads will not get you an elk.  You may see them, but you wont get a shot.

I did NOT shoot my elk in any GMU # with a 1 or 2 or 3 or a 4 in it....

By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.
