Great day shooting fish with new friends!
« on: June 25, 2012, 06:57:19 PM »
Jeremy "aka 75johndeere on here" Contacted me about doing a trip. He brought his friend James along as well. Jeremy has shot before but James was new to bowfishing. The wind messed with us a little bit but they still got tons of shooting in, about 3-4x what I expected for yesterday. The carp were stacked up in there but with the colder year it's a different shoot then normal. The fish stayed deeper and they are not spawning yet. It was only 70-72 out but they both still managed to get a little tan as well as a little red :chuckle: It was a pleassure shooting with both of them and getting James his first carp. Jeremy shot a monster of a carp as well as a 1/100 mirror carp. All in all it was a great day and we had a blast. Here are some pictures hope you enjoy them!

Thanks Jeremy

What do you mean by not legal using them as fertilizer? Or your carp spots? From what i understand about populated spots is its classified as a form of fishing so it should get you around the no projectiles laws in city limits but dont quote me on that you might want to contact local gamie and find out its probably a judgment call on there part.

As far as what to do with them that is up to you. Just dont dump them on the side lake that will get the sport banned really fast no one wants go to the park and see 20-30 rotting smelly carp. Us them as fertilizer or find a legal place to dump them or use them as bait for coyotes. Alot of Asian people i work with want me bring them in for them but sitting out in the sun all day and then the ride home i doubt they would be good by the time i got back.

Jeremy posted just what I would have said. A lot of people use them as fertilizer, I know some people that like to eat them. You won't see one on my plate any time soon!

Back home, a friend of my dads threw them into a big 55 gallon steel barrel and keep the lid on it all summer.  By the next spring, it would just be a big barrel of goop that he turned into his gardens.  He swore by this method.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice
