I am in for the 700.  Tried drawing a couple of units in the 400s the last 3 years, but they keep reducing the tag numbers, so I thought I would just share my preference points with my 13 year old and get out of Montana's points race now so I can start putting in for WY next year.  Hopefully I will finally draw.  When I started this process I had no idea MT was so hard to draw a damn goat tag in...
In past years I didn't see anything until the last week of July.  Maybe it will be better this year... :dunno:
Good luck.

I'm also in for 700 but kinda hopin I don't draw because I've already got other hunt draws that would conflict and would probably just eat the tag fee and lose the pref point

Good luck on the draws.... Since your in diffent areas  :chuckle:  Ive wanted to hunt the 700's but its a bit far for the time Iget to go. Thats why I go to the 300 areas, relatively close, plenty of surplus tags... Not looking for a booner, and beautiful country too.  cant wait !

That really drives me nuts about Montana's antelope draws.  Since they don't release the results until almost August, you either avoid putting in for anything else that year, or you sit around hoping you DON'T draw.  I wonder why the hell they can't just draw the tags in June like everything else in the west so one speedgoat tag isn't holding up the whole season?  It's hard to scout and plan vacation when you don't know if you'll be driving to eastern MT in October...
I am more than a little frustrated with this whole process.  I'd be happy to burn these points on an easy tag and get out of the race...  I should have just been doing WY this whole time, I'd have killed 2 or 3 goats by now on leftover tags...

I was very disheartened by the number of antelope I saw in 2 days last week in Montana.  :(
