My Trophy Ridge Revolution Broke (two pieces!) gotta go back to the WB

Hello - I've been a pretty silent member for a while now and thought I would chime in on the recent threads regarding the great idea Trophy Ridge came up with in their Revolution rests.  This was one of those "duh - why hasn't this been thought of before" moments when I first saw this rest and was happy to read the mostly successful reporting on here.  I went ahead and bought one.  I had been using a whisker biscuit for a few years prior and my only complaint was the $20.00 price for the replacement whisker. ;0)
I have been shooting a lot and IMHO shooting fairly well with the new Revolution rest.  A couple of weeks ago while at the range a couple of the many shots I made hit something on the rest and the arrow was diverted and shot low.  This was very disconcerting and I thought of changing the rest there and then.  I certainly did not want this nagging thought while aiming at a deer or if lightning strikes twice, at an elk!
Yesterday I thought of taking a few shots in my back yard and the first two were flawless.  The third did that clack sound and the arrow flew low... and a piece to the containment arm flew forward to my left!
I will post photos this pm.  I don't have time to send for and receive and install a new containment arm as I leave for a hunt on Friday.  I will however reinstall my trusty WB and not worry about it this weekend.
I think this rapidly rotating containment arm is the weak link in the design of this rest.  It is a great idea that needs to have some more time on the drawing board.

I am not understanding the couple of broken revolutions on here.  Did Trophy Ridge put out a bad batch?  The guys that broke theirs, where did you buy them?  I bought mine at Bass Pro Shops online and have over 1000 arrows through it and it has been nothing but flawless.  Maybe a bad batch made it to our local cabelas or something?

mine was the other one that broke, and it basically broke where the pin goes through the containment arm to hold it to the shaft it rotates on. it took about a week to get the parts from them. i fixed it and sold it and bought a rip cord and have never been happier! i  also felt the design is greatly flawed. in more ways then one to be honest. the plastic containment arm is the first. the second is the way it holds the arm in two places i found that it can direct the arrow till it rotates out of the way.

If your arrows are hitting your rest, you or who ever set the rest up did not know what they were doing. Your arrows should never be contacting the rest when you shoot. After 1-2 times of that you should have fixed it and adjusted it. It does not suprise me that it broke when you kept bouching arrows off of it. That's just common sense stuff right there. Arrow VS rest, let's see the arrow will always win!

It does not matter what drop away rest you buy, if your arrows are boucing off the dang rest before they leave the bow. Any rest will break after multiple shots contact the rest without fixing it

My inside fletch was brushing the hub until I tightened the string that goes from the rest to the cables up a tiny bit.  I set it the way it was recommended but it seems slightly shorter was better.

some rests are easier to correctly set up than others tho. I personally will most likely not use a rest that attached to a cable again and I have no need for full containment. There are better and easier out there. The revolution seems to be a good idea and works well when set correctly ( key word correctly)

I'm not as novice as you can get but I'm pretty damned close and I got mine set up fine.

no i wish there was a way to show you, but even set up correctly the rest wasnt in line with the arrow. at full draw the arrow would sit where it was supposed to in the front of the rest but at the back of the rest the arrow wasnt centered and was touching the side of the hook.

I'm not sure how it was surmised from my post that I repeatedly shot my bow with the arrow bouncing off the arrow rest.  I've shot literally over a thousand arrows through this rest before having any problems with it.  I believe that it is not rocket science for a competent person to properly set this arrow rest up.  So, yes, I set it up myself.  I also believe that what is happening is that over time the thin metal post support within the swinging containment arm may start loosening the plastic inside the assembly causing an ever so slight delay in the arm getting out of the way of the arrow.  Maybe the repeated shooting weakens the arm and hairline cracks start to form, further causing the delay.  I've now attached photos of the my rest and what's left of the containment arm... I couldn't find the other part.
I still think this arrow rest is a great ides but I'm not sure the rapidly revolving arm is adequately supported by the rest to withstand thousands of shots without this sort of thing eventually happening.  The devil is in the details and I think in this case it is the little steel rod that transfers all that revolving energy to the containment arm that may need rethinking.

Mine wasn't in line either but then I discovered that my rest was too far in/out so the two parts of the rest were not parallel to the arrow.  This might be the issue.

Not everything works for everyone, I wouldn't touch another QAD with someone else's bow, but that is my opinion.

It does look like they may need to reinforce that central disc though.
