I have to take mine off. I don't think I've ever come close to forgetting to put it back on, though. That would suck.
Hahaha! I know a gunshop employee who has left his piece in the stores public restroom several times. It has even been found by customers.

The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.
When I worked for DOC, there was a corrections officer who was taking an inmate to a hospital appointment who left her loaded H&K .40 in a public restroom in the hospital. Fortunately it was found by hospital staff and not some young kid or whoever else wanders through hospital ER's (also fortunately, there were no situations that arose during the hospital trip where she might have needed the firearm to secure the inmate). Point is, if you set it down, there is the possibility of forgetting it.....
