Limit!  Had to go out to Possession.  Didn't see a net in anybody's hand around the shipwreck.
And I think God must be a cowboy at heart

And trails to lead ol' cowboys home again

Lil Ripper and myself had a good day today. We slept in and didn't get a line in the water till 8:30. We had our limits by 10:30. As I finished cleaning the fish he asks me if we can just sit up on the bow and talk and have lunch. It was one of those special day's that you never forget. :)

That's great Ripper!  My boy and I ended up having a very special day also. We decided to hit the evening high tide throwing buzz bombs from shore and he cuaght his first silver ever on ultra light gear.

That's awesome singleshot! I love catching them from shore on a buzz bomb. It's great fun! And to do it your boy makes it all the more special. H2O, tonight I had fresh salmon, and bear chops. You were right on the money, they tasted just like regular steak. Not the same as the bear steaks I've had before. I actually thought they lacked flavor. Just like steaks from the store. :chuckle: Non the less, we gobbled them down with some wine. It was a fanfrickingtastic day.

I know right. As far as the quality of meat goes I was hoping to have some bear flavor. As mellow as those steaks are I guess I'm just going to have enjoy them regardless. We should all be so unlucky. Yep, last night was a feast. Between the six adults, my two kids, and one infant that eats as much as anyone we hammered those filets. It really was a good morning for us. The whole goal was to get my buddy Chad on his first salmon in the salt. Here is a picture of the happy fisherman working the rod and after landing one of his two first saltwater salmon.

I knew you were gonna do great as soon as I knew I couldn't go with ya - that happened last time too. Thanks again for the invite.

But, hearing that you had some good bonding with yer boy, totally negates the feeling I had of missing out. Some things are just more important than others. Very cool.  ;)

This really is the best silver fishing I've ever seen. If there was ever a time to go, I'd say do it now!!!  Who's fishing the derby this weekend?

Nope. Not me. Man were there a lot of boats out. I'd hate to see the crowd this weekend. For what it is worth we had all three of our fish hit a blue/white bucktail fly. I added a little spin and glo in front for some extra action. Green E-Chip flasher with a fairly short leader. All the hit it hard and were hooked solid.
