Weyerhaeuser phone number?
« on: August 26, 2008, 01:46:07 PM »
Does anyone have number for Weyerhaeuser security? If I kill an elk this year it would be nice to call security so I can drive in a pull the animal out.
Thanks,
LF

Good luck and let us know if they do. I was told they quit doing it.

Dang. I have a number, but understand its only for emergencies...like as in loss of life, imminent bodily harm, etc. Not sure having an animal down counts.

as far as I know they quit doing that, but you can call the main office and ask. They used to give the combination out to hunters to get a downed animal. I was told that it saved a lot of time and money versus replacing the gates and locks that hunters were cutting off to drive in and get the animal. I did hear that security would show up at the gate and escort people in to get an animal, but i don't know how true it is.

A great opportunity to help provide hunting access! This is a big cooperative effort between many volunteer organizations, Weyerhaeuser, and WDFW to provide additional motorized access during the week to the majority of the Weyerhaeuser St. Helens Tree Farm during the special elk permit seasons. Thanks to the hard work of participants, we had a very successful first year in 2007 and provided additional weekday motorized access for hunters to approximately 86% of the St. Helens Tree Farm.

You can help to provide access by signing up as a volunteer on the calendar provided. This volunteer program is MH eligible.

We appreciate your help and look forward to another safe and successful year!

Last year during early archery they were NOT escorting people in to get animals until late the second week after it had rained at least in the winston unit

this number was given to me by another hunter and he said to call it if i got an elk down and weyerhauser  would let me in the gate if someone was in the vicinity. I've never called it because i never got an elk. 1-800-458-0274

I don't remember the # but last year we called to drive in and get an elk. They asked what gate, road, vehicle description, and vehicle licence plates. And they let us go in and get the elk. A Gamy did come check on us. It was really nice carrying it about 100yds instead of 4 miles. I shot it with about 30 mins of light left. It would have been an all nighter.

the number 1 800 458 0274 is the same as I have. In the recording it has an option to press a number to get ahold of an operator if you have a downed animal behind a gate for possible access.

We lucked out during the early season and were able to get in ONLY because someone broke the lock and the gate was open. When I called they told me that they did not have anyone in the area and that we would have to walk in. When I told them it was open they were shocked, gave me permission but also told me that I could be locked in until the following day.

They still will open the gate if someone is working in the area you are in. We got an elk down early season and they met us at the gate. They arrived about 1 hour after the call which was perfect timing for us to actually get to the gate hustling are butts off. No problem's at all, very nice people if you treat them with respect they will do the same. I don't really want to post the # but if you are really gonna go behind weyco gates pm me and I will give you the number. Remember let's not abuse this privilege.

The number is also listed on the signs at the gates. When you call you will want to know the gate number, not the road number.

360-425-2150 is the main office number.  We were told this season by security to call that number and they will send you to the proper person to give you a pass code to go in and get your animal out.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.
