My dad and a family friend is over as we speak trying to fill their observatory special bull tags. Just curious if anyone has been successful yet with this tag?

one would think after all the years he hauled you and your brother around that you guys would be the first one's helping him out! He already had pretty bad luck, I'm sure he could use the help. Just saying.

Well it almost worked out :'( my cousin road over with me early saturday morning and made it just in time to help my dad with his elk hunt. We ended up spotting some dandy bulls 800 yards away across a canyon. We put the calls into action and everything worked just like u see on hunting shows. We called a very nice 7x in to 20 yards!!!!! Dad gets set up to take the shot and POP cap goes off but no gun. Bull turns trots out to 30 yards and POP but no gun shot! Bull turns goes out to 50 yrds waiting for shot and again POP! What the hell? Bull turns and vanishes:( we end up going back to the truck and decide to see if we can get the muzzy to shoot. Put cap on and boom! If only that bull would of stuck around for one more 4th cap try:( so close! Dads hunt goes till wednesday so hopefully he gets a bull.
