Thought I was ready to go but getting back from Minnesota on Wednesday I realized I wasn't quite ready.  Going to try tomorrow evening.

Was going to head out and the wife told me she made a mistake on a family friends daughters wedding.  I was about 95% ready and now no place to go.  Too good of a friend to miss for just about anything.  This will be my first year elk hunting, 3 scouting trips and I wont be able to go early season.

Oh well

best of luck for those who get out

hunterrcc - Ya post the results, a picture and throw out a score so all the experts can tear you apart and tell you that it can't possibly score what you think.

That or you can keep it to you and your wife and enjoy it. Seems like the better option if you ask me. Nice Bull by the way. I'd of shot that bull anywhere with any tag. My daughter asked me this morning when she could pack out some more elk meat, lol! Rumors are already flying all over Eburg. You gotta love mass and character :)

It is a great bull and she made a really good shot. That girl is good to go when it comes to running thru the hills and making the shot count.

For all that want to see her bull...Well if you see a white truck with big horns sticking up driving down I-5 today it is her bull we are bringing them to show our grandparents the rack otherwise we have shown our friends and family that we want to show the pictures!!! Thanks again for the great time glad you could go pinetar!!!

By the way I had a nice Rosie 6x6 in my sight this morning but passed on him to let the other guy that had walked in the same place I was hunting take the shot only because the elk walked out more towards him but he never had a good shot on it had I known that the elk would be dead! Darn there is always tomorrow.

I had planned on going but the 4 bulls that I know where they are living are all on land that is locked up due to fire danger.   :bash:  I did almost get one on my way home last night.  About 1/2 mile from my house a 5x5 darted out onto the highway in front of me followed by his cows.  11:30 at night and something was pushing them hard.  I think the locals were out trying to get a jump on the season and blew them out of the area.  They are now on a certain chunk of land where they are safe from being hunted.

correct me if I am wrong but I dont remember me asking for help or saying my wife drew a tag and I don't know where to go give me your secret spot.  Coach I do and did appreciate the tips people said but never were we depending on anyone else help to find a bull to shoot.  I found the bull she ended up shooting in one of our scouting trips. Then we hunted hard for 3 days following 1 bull over miles of terrain before ever getting a shot opportunity on him passing on a dozen other bulls mostly small young bulls.   Pine tar hit the head on the nail its a nice bull and we choose to keep it to ourselves! Some on here have seen it and they say its nice too so it must be. Good luck to everyone this season wish you all the best.
