I don't think any archery or ML hunters are going to chill out this year

Yeah...pretty hard to chill out when its a thousand degrees outside during hunting season.  8) :bash:
Take up your bow, a quiver full of arrows, head out to the country and hunt some wild game.  GEN 27:3

Saw a game warden with a bull in the back as well as a state trooper heading back into one of the WR hancock gates yesterday at about 2pm.... that doesn't sound too well as far as this story goes about people being to hunt in there with those tags.... just saying.

They have it open for the guys that have the tag.  People need to relax!  I'm glad they have it open for those six guys.  I'd be pissed if I drew that and couldn't get in there as someone said earlier it's pretty much a OIL tag.  Good on Hancock for making the exception too!

if those guys with their Elk tags are getting in then they should feel pretty darn lucky, especially considering the lack of pressure and competition right now.

ALL Properties are CLOSED to ALL recreation access.

There have been several human-caused fires on the properties in the last week and east winds are forecast. The current fire danger is too great to keep the properties open for recreational access.

We understand that hunting seasons are in progress or about to begin. We will re-evaluate opening the properties on a daily basis. Please do not call our office for updates but instead stay tuned to this web site. We will update the web site as soon as there is a change.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

Way too much negativity in this thread.  I was hoping this was going to be a fun experience I could relay to you guys all the updates I was getting.  But unfortunately, too many people have ruined this.  I'm sorry to those of you who were looking forward to the story and pictures, I've had plenty of great messages from people on here.  But all this thread has done is cause me undue stress.  People never cease to amaze me.

No idea why, it was at the grass mountain gate. We turned around and tried to see if we could see more details, but they were already aways down the road where we couldnt see them anymore. If someone did kill an animal while its closed say without permission( I AM NOT SAYING THAT THIS WHOLE POST IS BS, JUST HYPOTHETICALLY SPEAKING) they would only get in trouble for trespassing right? Whoever killed it hauled it out whole other than guts so i dunno not trying to make accusations towards one group , there is multiple reasons as to why I saw what I saw. Been waiting for a facebook update from wdfw cause I know they post about poaching incidents usually, so maybe it was a mixup on the warden.
