Let's see your Grouse Getter's!!!
« on: August 29, 2008, 10:18:41 PM »
I never did post a Pic of my new 22 so here it is. It's a Ruger 22/45 Mark111 Hunter. I had a Volquartsen target hammer, trigger and sear installed. It made all the difference in the world. The trigger is like butter!!! It's a joy to shoot. I tried one of these scope's as it was recommend from a friend. Seems to work good but I think I would prefer a 2 power scope. I shot a clip of each brand at 11 yds off the hood of the truck. Ammo was just cheap plinking rounds but it really preferred the Winchester. I'm sure the gun is more accurate then me..........lol (I'm a Bow Hunter)

Josh I will let you know how it shoots. LOL

Here is a picture of mine. I have more money in the upgrades then the gun cost new.
When I pass, do not let my wife sell the guns for what I told her they cost.

My Ruger 22/45 MKIII. Purchased new in January. $330 total investment.

I did the 1911 grip mod with Fusion Firearms bushings and Hogue wraparound Commander size grips.
It has the factory hammer, sear, and trigger which have all been re-worked to 2.1lbs. Overtravel and pre-travel screws were set in the trigger, with the rear of the trigger de-spurred. No creep, no overtravel, no pre-travel. As nice (or nicer) than VQ...and for only $0.38!!!

Magazine disconnect removed (will fire without magazine and magazines drop freely).
LCI Disabled.
"Slingshot mod" so you can slingshot the bolt rather than having to use the slide stop every time (MKIII's have some funny, lawyer happy querks). I also spring loaded the slide-stop lever so it functions 100% like a true 1911.

Custom rear sight blade with a 1/16" ivory bead front sight.
Capable of sub .500 groups @ 50yds with match ammo (scoped, rested).
One heck of a sweet shooting, accurate pistol. I love these rugers!
I left it better than I found it...did you?
