My 2012 blues bull
« on: October 24, 2012, 03:11:01 PM »
Well my hunt started with hiking down into a Hell of hole Monday at 5:30am. Got on a ridge at 7 somethin and watched the hills. Saw a decent 6 but he was to far for his size being opening day. At 9:30 we spotted a bigger bull that looked good enough that we needed to get over there and get a better look. So.my dad and I hiked over and got there about 12pm and didn't see anything. My brother tells us on the radio that some guys came down and shot at the bull we looked at earlier which wasn't far. Must have scared our bull. So we sat there for a lil bit and all of a sudden cows and calves started coming over the ridge above us. In the back was a spike, a one horned bull, and a 6 point. They ran through the trees and came the clearly. I looked at the 6 point and figured he was big enough. So I shot. Then the sob roll a long ways... I yelled o sh**! I figured I'd have to be searching for broken Tines. Luckily nothing broke! The bull was 4 miles in. We got him all skinned out and and cut up and left him at 5:30pm. Got back to the camper at 11pm! Woke up and headed back in with a horse. Had to back pack the elk down to where we could load the horse and finally got out of the canyon at about 8pm last night!

Beautiful Bull!!!!  Gotta love the Whale Tail on him....

Congrats
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.
