Cute Pomeranian, Bone. Did you pet it?

Nice pic, man.

Really?  I don't mean that as a smart ass either.  I see them quite often.

Used to be alot more of them.  I haven't seen a live one in years.  Found one in Eburg shed hunting, but he was a scraggily bugger.  I'll tell the story on this one shortly.

So, I spot this buck and doe in a pocket a long ways off.  He looks decent.  I start closing the gap.  I bumped into a bunch of other deer so went through gently not to spook them out.   I get to the pocket and here is a doe and a little forkie.  I am certain the buck was bigger.  I start to climb the rise to look over into the little basin on the other side.  This grey thing goes shooting by my feet in the tall grass.  Scared the BEJEEBERS out of me.  Had no clue what it was.  Then it popped its head up.   I was obviously close.  As I circled him hed dip back into his hole.  I'd take a step back and he'd come out more curious.  I got lined up on a trail with him between his two holes and hunkered.   He'd stand up to try to see what I was doing.   I finally went and got my little lens and walked up to him.  He sat back in his hole.   He had no aggression at all.  I was surprised. I resisted trying to pet him or pick him up and cuddle though he just looked so cuddily.  I suppose at that time I would have outlived my welcome.

After the photoshoot I continued up over the little ridge...SURE ENOUGH   ass and horns going the other way...full speed.  Guess I missed one.  It was worth it.
